The Penn State Blue-White Game is an annual spring football scrimmage, established in 1951 by head coach Rip Engle to conclude spring practice. Originally called the “Bucket Bowl,” it began as a minor intrasquad game, but has grown into one of college football’s biggest spring events, often drawing over 50,000–70,000+ fans to Beaver Stadium. The game serves as a final, public, and high-energy practice, acting as a crucial part of Penn State football culture.
The game has evolved from a small, low-stakes practice into a massive festive weekend for alumni, students, and fans. It was moved to Beaver Stadium as popularity grew and is now widely regarded as one of the best-attended spring games in the nation.
The Blue-White game is scheduled for April 25, 2026, don’t miss out on the first showcase of PSU talent under direction of our new head Coach Matt Campbell.
